there arent even any video's of n900 in hongkong on youtube. Maybe once we have seen how minor 1.2 is we can finally put the thread to rest.

lets face it, we want the update because the n900 is buggy - it was hyped up and never really delivered.
we purchased the handset hoping it would do what we were lead to believe - and within weeks nokia drop maemo in favour of meego. ( i understand its a merger but support ceased )

we were guinypigs. i wouldnt be surprised to see meego on an android device before we see it.

the most upseting thing is
NOT ONLY HAVE NOKIA LET US DOWN, THEY HAVE LET CHUCK NORRIS DOWN

just went through the russian site nad found nice comment about n8-00. it's spec doesn't say about CPU and someone says it has no CPU at all and another person confirmed by saying 'yes, it works on electrolytes from the nozzle of virgins instead')

by the way, people on the site mentioned where not so crazy about waiting of pr1.2. they just now are saying, wow, its coming next week? really? awesome... could be better though but still.

are we really crazy?.. weird is the thing that we have overexpectations on pr1.2. we will get more craze when it comes and gives nothing in advance. but at least current-future QT stuff would be unblocked

how come they announce the hk n900 - and as seen on some videos they sell it - that one can not find the hk-1.2 firmware on nokia servers - neither navifirm nor tablets-dev.nokia.com show them ?!

Well mine ain't buggy - the web browser is awesome, terminal rocks, canola rocks, 4 home screens, plenty of widgets, even mms is working properly, 5megapixel camera with dual LED flash, ir port, fm transmitter, 4 different browsers to choose from (micro-b, fennec, chrome and midori), full open office suite, aircrack-ng, wireshark, support for ALL archive formats, all ebook support, rdesktop, vpn, ability to overclock, timed tasks (i.e. alarmed app), multiple profiles.

it even has limited java support. Most of the really cool stuff is under the hood - and I can do things on this I could only dream of on Android/Symbian.

It's the ultimate device IF you know how to use it.

I usually follow this post every day, but at this point already reached my limit. There is a lack of consideration by users of the Nokia N900.
I had an idea, and if we collected all in and started to return the Nokia N900? I like him very much but there are other similar equipment on the market and frankly I do not have the patience to wait any longer.

To be honest, this sort of comment is becoming more and more regular. And in all fairness, I agree.
The handset will never be welcomed by the masses, and only the true fans that "know" how to use the phone to its full potential will benefit.

However, remember that with such a small user base of "true fans" the handset will never gain the support it needs. I am glad that the phone is working well for some, but for others we were sold a phone in beta testing stages and the fix seems none existent at the moment. More and more users are defecting to other handsets, selling there n900's at a loss. Nokia have realy shot themselves in the foot this time.

We know Nokia read this thread, One response from them is all it takes, they have already receive emails enquiring about pr 1.2 and still no answers. Is it because they dont care? Probably!

Like said many times N900 was unfortunately hyped by the internet. Nokia didn't do it looking at N900 release got no ads, it being 4th step in a 5 step plan (you don't see this being said in a announcement of the device too often) and N900 was done in a Korean factory that could not produce even the under 600 000 in 5 months.
Compared to N97 that sold 2 million in 2 months and had no shortage as it was made in bigger factories in Finland and China. Tells nicely as what kind of sailes was Nokia expecting for this device.

Harmattan was in the works pararell to Fremantel and talked here year before N900 release. It's the first OS to complete the long run plan with Qt that Nokia got from buying Trolltech in 2008. That Symbian will join in later(2011Q1). Nokia is expects/hopes MeeGo/Harmattan to take 20% of it's net sales already in 2011.
