seems like all the goodies are left on extra-devel and testing and nothing really comes to extras, why is that??

there are many apps on devel and testing which i would really like to have, but im afraid to get into rootfs issues all over again

A great many things are stuck there because they will run best on PR1.2. Unfortunately, the gap between the SDK coming out so that devs could create software for the new firmware and the firmware itself being released has caused a small case of constipation in Devel where apps are quietly waiting. Expect a bunch of new things o start flowing when the firmware arrives.

As far as I know, the problem with the apps requiring PR1.2 has been fixed, so the majority of those apps can now be installed on the normal end-user devices.

So, no, PR1.2 has nothing to do with this.

Not always, but yes it does in certain cases

1. Any change to extras-devel has a delay of at least ten (but usually more) days due to the quarantine requirement, so it's only now that the first apps are (again) starting to reach extras.

2. There are apps that DO require or have already migrated to Qt4.6 (or the corresponding PyQt/PySide). These are no longer able to be promoted to extras-testing.
