Hi there,

Just wanted to say that Autodisconnect works fine for me. However, my N900 doesn't seem to be able to reconnect when a scheduled event (email for example) happens. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks,
Chris

Would it be possible to add an option which switches off Bluetooth after x minutes if no device is connected?

Yes because we don't have a choice, since AutoDisconnect use Qt 4.6 :

"Warning: Promotion of experimental Qt based applications (qt4-maemo5) is blocked due to possible conflicts with upcoming Maemo 5 releases. See this post for more information. If you want to promote your application, you should switch to libqt4 instead of libqt4-maemo5. The builder now has Qt 4.6 support. (PR1.2 SDK)"

But with the imminent release of PR1.2, AutoDisconnect should be soon in extra.
I will release a new version (0.3) tomorrow, which fixes the critical bug when reinstalling AutoDisconnect (the bug with the missing script), and which adds some new functionalities.

Cheers!

Yeah that's normal. The n900 doesn't try to connect while being offline. What a pity.

What you can do is activate the option 'Connect Automatically' in Settings > Internet Connections with a search interval of your choice. Then the device will sync everything while connected, and AutoDisconnect will close the connection after that.

Could you include this feature in the coming release?

hiya,
I had tried that, but no luck for me. As it turns out, it was a different app WiFiSwitcher which was causing the problem. if Wlan was disablded, it wouldnt allow autoconnect on cellular. So i left wlan enabled, but told it to only connect to cellular internet on demand.

seems to have fixded the problem.

Thanks for the reply though =)

What I can do if you're interested is add an option "Disable Bluetooth if not used". The interval will be in this version the same as for the other network connections.

You're welcome

You seem to be saying that your device connects automatically when the automatic sync is on, is that true ?

That's not the normal behaviour of the N900. See https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7180. Maybe it's just a desktop widget which triggers the internet connection.

Oh, sorry. Should have been more elaborate. Girlfriend was shopping, so I was passing the time replying to posts =p

I meant that my N900 had stopped connecting by itself when I open the browser. I have heard of the bug of it not connecting for mail/sync, to get around this, I have a weather widget which I tell to update hourly, this connects it to the internet in order to sync my things =]
