Has a few problems with my 770 running 2006 at the weekend. I've noticed sometimes when I take it out of it's cover (bring it out of sleep), that it doesn't find any wifi connections, even though I know there are some. In the end, I have to reboot it, and suddenly they then all appear. Anybody else have this issue and know a workaround ?

Secondly, I've been using the 770 with my WM6 GPRS/3G phone over bluetooth. The first time I try it, it works fine. However, if I then put the 770 to sleep and then try again later, it says Internet connection failed. I then have to restart the BT link on the phone. Any guesses ?

I have seen this issue, too. When it happens, the process "icd" (Internet Connection Daemon?) is using huge amount of CPU resources. It's impossible to restart this daemon, because it's running as root user and sudo command doesn't work when this happens. So rebooting is the only way to solve this issue.

However, this happens only when I have enabled "Disconnect when cover on device" from connectivity settings. I believe some program is frequently trying to poll the net connection. When the cover is on, this polling is somehow blocked and after a while it causes icd to freeze. My workaround was to turn off the automatic disconnection when cover is on.

Menu -> Tools -> Connection Manager -> (top menu) Tools -> Connectivity settings -> Disconnect when cover on device

EDIT: For your second question, the setting I mentioned above disconnects also the Bluetooth connection. This means that you may have to re-establish the connection to your cell phone after opening the cover.

Cheers for the reply. I'll give it a go.

I though having the 770 auto disconnect when the cover was on, would be better for battery life and would stop it polling for a network ?
