Now the first option is kinda impossible for me because the antenna is built in the car

So my question is, would this car mount work as some sort of extra booster?

It says it has some sort of FM transmitter.. Would it work in conjuction with N900's ?
I quickly looked through the product description. It seems like it takes audio in and broadcasts it as an FM signal. It is not a booster but a separate FM transmitter. The quality with these types of devices is really hit and miss in my opinion.

The device has nice features though. Like I said I just briefly scanned the description. If I were you check online for reviews.

Thanks,
so is there any car mount that actually boost FM signal?

Or if there isn't such product, i don;t mind using separate FM signal, as long as the quality is good.. Can you recommend any brand?

I must report that my FM transmitter works great!. I have used it in 4 different cars on trips from Newcastle to London and back. A Ford Ka, Ford Fiesta, Peugeot 206, Renault Clio sport. Used to get trouble with interference some times but would just adjust the feq. Then i finally settled on 107.8 right near the end of the band.

I've had absolutely no issues with the FM transmitter after I got the desktop widget and used the booster application. Works wonders on any signal.. even in the city.

I agree with others that my phone's FM transmitter works well.

As for a transmitter that acts like a booster I have no clue. It seems it would still just pick up other signals that are overpowering your phone and boost them as well.

Separate transmitters I cant really recommend a brand. I use for my bluetooth connection a Motorola device (cant remember the model) that takes my bluetooth input and broadcasts it over FM. It works really well. So with the N900 it basically receives like a wireless headset and then rebroadcasts the sounds.

Another option is to use the N900 sound out and hard wire an auxiliary sound jack to your car stereo like you would an MP3 player. This more expensive, but much better quality.

Trust me, don't waste your time, just pretend your N900 doesn't have FM transmitter.

I have mixed results. In my Durango on a mostly clear channel I can get great signal and quality. In my Dodge Diesel truck I have to have the phone up by the window on the same side as the antenna to get anything.

So I do believe vehicle and antenna quality have a lot to do with it too. (My truck has general FM issues listening to just normal radio stations too; not just the transmitter).

Yea car antenna definitely has something to do with it,
This time i tried it on Honda Jazz (because the antenna is removable), and i still get terrible signal..
but after i detach the antenna, i got a wonderful result.. the voice is really clear.

But i still need a car charger, so i finnally settled for this :

It's the best i could find out there, not a bad deal, because i also got a $10 coupon code for it while googling

Ok i'll review it as soon as i get it,
Btw i have another problem, if the FM transmitter is activated, i can;t hear any voice from incoming calls, only beeping sounds.
Is this normal?
Do i have to turn it off if i want to accept phone call?

Iphone can do it according to this video :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ykukp...layer_embedded

If this feature doesn't exist yet,
maybe the code for FM widget can be modified so that if there's a incoming call, the transmitter will be turned off, then after the call is finished, it would turn it back on... Is that possible?
