hi, i'm vry new in maemo and Qt...i have some newbie question that really cannot understand after seach... =.="

Nokia Qt SDK Beta that release at 27-apr said that "The Nokia N900 mobile computer will support applications created with this beta in the forthcoming version 10.2010.09-3 firmware update. "

is that mean if i'm using this SDK i cant run anything on my N900 untill the PR1.2 was release?

do i have anyway to debug or run my "hello world" on N900?

is that will be a sis file after we compile our code for N900?

can we simply put the sis file and run on device? or we must have any sign ?

Every time I have tried using the beta qt sdk and attach my n900 remotely and transfer the program, it segfaults (the program). I have on my n900 all of the libqt4 libs except for webkit. I'm not too sure what may be causing this as I have only played around with the sdk for about an hour this morning. Please note I do not have pr1.2 installed

Not sure what's the qt situation now - there's probably some way to compile the app against old version (or at least require the old version in the package dependencies).

You don't have to sign anything however. And you don't use .sis files. You can either copy the binary over, or create a proper .deb package.

Maybe this will help incase you don,t have qt 4.6 installed.

n900 does not install .sis files
there for symbian.
n900 installs .deb files (not .dep)

i found that if we want to make a deb file on Qt we need to use MADDE , is there any other way or this is the only way?

and the latest MADDE cannot support latest Qt (Qt.4.7) ? that's mean we need to wait for new MADDE to create our deb file ?

Any idea will it release soon ?

And you need to wait for PR1.2 to deploy on your n900.

You can use scratchbox. Not sure how much helpful MADDE is when it comes to packaging stuff... but doing it by hand if you havfe problems at this stage, would be an *interesting* experience.
