As of PR1.1.1

1. Overclock Kernel (Lehtos 900mhz so stable!)
2. fMMS
3. Conky
4. FM Boost
5. Mobile Hotspot
6. Hermes Sync
7. MSN Haze
8. Petrovich
9. PicoDrive & DrNokSnes (Megadrive / SNES Emulator)
10. Rootsh
11. Simple Brightness App
12. Extra Decoders Support
13. Recaller (This is awesome!)

For me, there are a few things that could easily top this list if it was ever invented. (or maybe someone could tell me good ones)

- Free & easy type of office file viewers (.doc / .xls / .ppw)

- Proper flash video player (to play youtube downloaded vids, current ones are unreliable)

For me, there is one unsung champion of the maemo platform: catorise. You just install it and forget about it. I could never go back to the default menu layout.

Everyone already covered 99% of the apps I use.

However, they left out a very important one:
Flashlight.

Don't really have a order of preference, but here is my must have list:

Easy Debian - Has GIMP and OO.o
Rootsh - If you want to get anything risky done in terminal.
Mediabox - Better media player than the default. (Canola2 would be my optimum, but for Fremantle, it's still in -devel)
BlueMaemo - (Warning: Potentially unstable/dangerous application.) Use the N900 as a Mouse, Keyboard, etc..

Also various widgets and applets that have been so well integrated that I forgot I installed them.

Am I the only Pandora fan out here (I guess maybe it is a U.S. thing). I would add:

Pianobar and pypianobar (of course I have no idea if they are in extras or still in test).

Also fbreader for ebooks and mapper is worth a try.

Lots of apps, no one here gets any work done.
