I remember reading about how the Palm Pre used to be able to synch with iTunes. They achieved this, IIRC, by fiddling with the device ID.

Enjoy the link that explains it somewhat.

Anyway, since our N900s are pretty darn open, what's the possibility of spoofing our device IDs? I hardly even know what I'm asking. It sounds like this is something that's done on the hardware level. Would it take reflashing with some sort of custom firmware or something?

I'm also interested in this or any alternatives to sync my N900 with iTunes. I tried Salling Media Sync but it just doesn't suffice.

EDIT: I managed to find a small application called iTunes Agent, I'm testing it now. So far it's been pretty good.
