I'm also seeing this with a BlackBerry, but haven't had any problems with Sony Ericsson phones; Dell laptops (running Windows XP or Ubuntu); Linux desktops; Acer netbooks (running Ubuntu) and so on.

I'm guessing it's something weird about the BlackBerry - it loves to connect as an AV remote control (until I turned that off), but it refuses to receive files or contacts from my N900 :-(

that's it? anybody?

I love my N900 but its inability to perform such a simple task brings me down. I needed like six months ago and I thought it was a random thing but over the last month I have needed it constantly and now I find out that the solution is that there is no problem at all? not use the bluetooth? is this why the N900 is better than other phones? because we can send anyfile via bluetooth, no jailbreak needed?

there must be something we can do.

Meanwhile, I use the nokia interface, it allows me to browse the phone over bluetooth but at work computers dont have the nokia suite, what to do?

any advice?

I'm getting the same problem over here. I'm trying this with Win7, i've tried to pair, and & unpair. Also delete the laptop from my device and vice versa, but no dice. I remember being able to send with no problems in the past (could it be a side effect from PR1.2?)

If anyone has any info, sharing is caring

I have used bt many times for transferring files to my N900 from Win 7. I'm using PR1.2. I don't remember any special tricks.

I was able to send a bluetooth file over today. And i'm almost certain it's the bluetooth stack on the pc causing this problem.
First try to upgrade/install proper bluetooth drivers on the pc. If that doesn't work, try finding another stack to work with. Try this one http://www.bluesoleil.com/ if you care to experiment.

Hope this helps.
