Hi,

I'm new to maemo, i followed http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/...l_Installation
to install maemo sdk.
scratch was installed successful, but when i run sdk install script, got following error message. It seems there is proxy settings error, i don't know how to resolve it.

is there anyone who can help me?

My machine: ubuntu 9.10, 32 bit

The installation process was unable to run 'apt-get update' inside
the installed targets in order to update the local package database.
This could be due to an error in network configuration inside scratchbox.
Common causes are incorrect proxy	settings and the 'hosts' line in
/scratchbox/etc/nsswitch.conf.
For the 'hosts' line in /scratchbox/etc/nsswitch.conf the following
should usually be enough:
hosts:          files dns

Once network issues have been resolved, you should run the installer again.

have you tried to do what is said in error?

Hi ZogG,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I'm not familiar with ubuntu, either scratchbox.

what should i do is adding those links and ip address to the /scratchbox/etc/nsswitch.conf, right?

Outside scratchbox, try running
Code:
cat /etc/nsswitch.conf
Then run the command inside scratchbox and see if they're the same.
If not, edit it using nano

problems with server. You can wait couple ours (or days) and try again.

P.S. Several days ago I tried another Gui installer (http://repository.maemo.org/stable/f...install_5.0.sh). It use all my space on "/" (20Gb) and tell that not enough disk space....

The whole SDK download is ~750MBs (not sure how much this unpacks to), but it's surely not 20GBs, try using the manual scripts.
