Are you sure it charged?

When you plug the power in, it automatically powers the device up to a point, and displays a graphic that shows the battery charging, or an indication that the battery is fully charged.
Once it is fully charged, you can hold down the power button (the one towards the middle, not the outside as I saw on one website's illustration!) for about 3 or 4 seconds, and it will boot.

If it does not power on and boot up, pull the battery out, then re-install it and try again.
I bought two of these, and one of them had a problem 2 or 3 times where it locked up black and would not do a thing until I popped the battery out and back in.

Appreciate the reply.Yes it is fully charged. I took ou the battery and put it back in. it said battery charged and started to use it. It goes on when plugged in. I plugged it in again and on and says charging. Should I just get a replacement from where I bought it they will replace it. Thnaks.

Hi Popeye,

Mine did this when I first got it a couple of weeks ago as well. Once it was turned off I could never turn it on again, except by plugging in the power lead.

I rarely use the full shut down option, usually just power save by putting the cover on...which lasts for days and days. But the last few times that I have, it has come back to life and booted up by holding down the power switch for a while.

I can't say what I did to change it. Try holding the button down longer, try using power save rather than power off for a while. Hopefully it will sort itself out as mine did.

In my experience you have to disconnect the charger _before_ powering off the unit - and you'll have to wait up to half a minute before trying to power it on again

I also have this same problem, works perfectly if i boot it up while plugged in with the charger. Im just about to try enabling R&D mode.

::EDIT::
I have enabled R&D mode and it appears to have fixed the problem
