Hi all.

I've been following these instructions for putting the OS onto an MMC and booting off it.

However, I fall at one of the first hurdles. When I type 'umount /media/mmc1' as I'm told to, it reports:

'umount: /media/mmc1: Invalid argument'

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

I get the same error

I had the same problem. Cant remember exactly but I think I may have had Virtual RAM enabled. I deffo had to disable that at some point to get it to work

Like DynaMight said, make sure the swap file is off. You could also try "umount -f /media/mmc1" or "umount -f /dev/mmcblk0p1"

Also, type into xTerm "df" and hit enter. It should display the free space on your mounted partitions (And by extension the partitions currently mounted).
Do you see "/dev/mmcblk0p1" there or anything with the words "mmcblk"? If not the card isn't mounted...

In case of problems just open card door but leave card in, opening the door will unmount /media/mmcX and disable the swap automatically. The card will still work until you physically remove it.

I tried the method you said and I still cannot run the code "umount /media/mmc1". I got the same problems as before. I thought I might not need to run this code and went down. However, when I run "/dev/mmcblk0p1: 1,15000,6", it said that "/dev/mmcblk0p1 not found"

I spent almost a whole day on installing the system on mmc-mobile card but still failed. Please help! Thanks a lot!
