I have a major problem with roofts . I just cant get any space back .I have uninstalled near enough every app and still only got 31 mb free.
I have tried to follow the guides got a little back that way. Disabled catalogues etc. What next ??? Anyone got any ideas?
I am on the vodafone 205 firmware so is it worth updating to a generic global? If so which one????Would that void my warranty? Can I flash back to a vodafone firmware later........

So anyone got a clue whats going on or what am doing wrong?

Many thanks

Firstly 31mb is about normal, especialy if you have exteas testing/devel eabled, disabling them will free up some more space, flashihg to global firmware will mot void your waranty as its provided by nokia there lots of guides and info on it just do a power search, also why would you ever want to go back to voda fw.
For other ideas on clearing up your rootfs check out this wiki http://wiki.maemo.org/Free_up_rootfs_space

That would require a reflash, if your going to reflash i recomend using the global firmware, also if i were you id wait till pr1.2 is out and then flash to that. Until then 31mb will be fine.

EMMC is where your media is stored, music videos etc, you only need to reflash the firmware, the EMMC has nothing to do with rootfs or applications, after flashing my firmware to pr1.1.1 global version i had about 60mb rootfs spave left, apparently with pr1.2 it will be more like 90mb.

EDIT, Be careful with the stuff in the wiki the moving the microb and maps one is ok as is optifying python, but the scripts in there can cause alot of problems/slowdowns, id stear clear unless you understand exactly what they do, i have, and i would only use them if i had to, like to gain space for ota firmware upgrade which when complete would reverse the detrimental changes anyway (someone please correct me if this is wrong)

Wow 10mb is loads to gain from that, i never get more than a few kb's, but as op said he's just deleted loads of apps so its probably well worth doing, and something you can do regularly as well as apt-get remove & apt-get autoremove to remove no longer needed dependencies.
