With regards to the "It's not a phone so you should not expect it to do x" argument.

Ari Jaaksi (head of Meego operations, earlier Maemo obviously) has the following to say on his blog

"As you know, we are selling the first Maemo phone, the N900"

I assume that as he is the head of the department making these phones his words carry some weight on this matter
