Hi @all,

I know there is already an app for recording just everything that uses pulseaudio incl. the telephone app itself. But what i dream for is somewhat different:

What if your voice calls (PSTN or VoIP) will be recorded automatically at demand (maybe enabled for individual contacts and/or foreign calls) and afterwards magically inserted in the conversation list just like any sms, email and chat.
This entry - with time/date and duration of the call - could be there anyway (at least for known contacts), even without any recorded file, just because of completeness.

Of course, legal considerations may be a point when recording any random call, but i think its geek anyway.

Well, just an idea

greetings...

Would that be transcribing the audio (a la Google Voice/Grand Central?) and adding it? Or a link to the file?

I think it's a great idea, and if someone's willing to implement it, would be a great addition to recaller (Widget by Twaelti)

thx for supporting the idea.

A link to a (local) audiofile. But if that file was not generated or is deleted later, the entry should be there anyway, because its nice to know when and how long a call has happened.

I think the transcription of the call would be very nice, too! Never-ending possibilities with maemo/meego...

Please specify your use-case a bit more in detail :-)
The current event logging mechanism already logs all calls and messages in the same place, you can use e.g. "glogarchive" to view/export these entries.
