Please don't do that. There are threads here in which people have bricked their phones by doing an upgrade from sdk repos. Upgrade a specific app or library only using apt-get install.

Excellent! hopefully the next person who searches the forums will see this thread and not upgrade from SDK 
im kinda upgrading my n900 apps from sdk repository...
will this effect my phone?
(i used apt-get upgrade)
like 169 upgrades
