what do you mean with corrupted/mangled? dpkg and apt would detect that.
If had installed my experimental packages from my server I recommend to
"kernel-power-deinstall" them first and install the official packages from extras-devel.
With more recent kernels you can always go back to the stock with either
Code:
flasher-3.5 -f --flash-only=kernel -F RX-51_2009SE_3.2010.02-8_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin
if you have the firmware image or with
Code:
flasher-3.5 -f -k zImage
if you have the extracted zImage.

It was fine until I shut the phone down and then it wouldn't boot, nor charge as it would do a reboot loop when plugged in to the USB mains.

So, all apps still intact just a bit of a pain to be without the phone last night. Just sharing this in case anyone has problems with the kernels, a full reflash should not be required, just use the stock PR1.1.1 from Lehto's site. If you've upgraded to the PR1.2 RC then it might be different though..

it would be interesting to see the error message if you try to install from x terminal.

it seems that your dpkg database is corrupted.
LR1.2 is instable anyway.
does anybody know whether /var/lib/dpkg is on /home in LR1.2?

Unfortunately I don't have the errors to hand, but yes, dpkg was complaining - in fact it was coming up with a problem with dpkg itself, saying the "available" file was corrupted in /var/lib/dpkg? There were also "newline in string at line ..." appearing, all a bit odd.

I had installed the experimental packages, yes, and couldn't remember the exact syntax for flash-only so I simply used the zImage from Lehto's site. It all worked either way and I've just upgraded to the latest v34 (via appmanager this time, I decided against downloading the .deb's and using dpkg as I had previously) which seems to have all gone perfectly.

Now interesting I'm not running LC PR1.2 and never was.. however I did copy "available-old" and "status-old" over the top of "available" and "status", which let me use dpkg again but may have been the cause of bricking the phone also?

could you please upload dmseg? if you install sysklogd you can see more

Is syskolgd optified yet? If so i would install it direct. I am starting to think that the kernel-power are not the cause of my missing contacts widgets. I tried to reproduce by revert back to maemo27 again but this time they didn't show up. I have also tried to uninstall the kernel completly and reinstall again without luck. It might be a bug in my theme (humanity-theme) that conflicts with the kernel? I am on the defaults after a reboot so it could not be voltage.

I'll attach my dmesh:
Attached Files
File Type: txt dmesg-log-maemo34.txt (10.0 KB, 121 views)

as i review the overclocking wiki, the max voltage (in default/stock) is up to 1.350 v. everything, in my case, exceeding that voltage causes the device to have issues.

at stock, 600mhz is set to 1.350 volts.

in titan's kernel, 1GHz is set to 1.350 volts.

so thats why higher than 1GHz (titan kernel) results in an unexpected reboot/crashes.

i believe the case is different in the starving. havent try though

I have succesfully update to ver 34 , all works fine to me , but i am facing the same problem with the previous version .i am running the script which check the temprature and change the freq , to 250 600 in high temp , 500 805 and 500 900 when it is in normal temp. BUT When i reboot , my phones does'not revert to the default settings but it starts with overclock settings 250 850mhz,
I have check the pmconfig and the settings is to default ,
What is causing this ?
