Ok, I confess that I hold out some hope that enterprising hackers will be able to take the Flash 10 binary from some other (CPU & kernel) compatible device and get it running on the N900. However, that hack would be technically illegal and may arouse the ire of some company or other. But again, I hope not...

If Adobe were smart (assuming they were the only one involved with ire) they would be supporting the effort if they couldn't justify to their stockholders to invest their own effort (or if Nokia is being slow about it). They need flash on as many platforms as possible for now.

I'm starting to think Nokia betrayed us and we won't see 10.1 until MeeGo.

If 10.1 final comes out and there's not a Maemo version, then complain. This is just a beta version.

Yes, it was with that thought that I consoled myself last time.

So stop waiting.
And I know you know very well how long the wait has been.

I took Fixed in Fremantle with a shrug and a smile. This time though, there's no underpowered OMAP 2420, no Rube Goldberg display hardware, no minuscule guaranteed on-board storage, no cramped RAM. This time there's only the game.

The business decision behind this is still confusing to me, a hardware redesign for the next maemo/meego platform will be more than enough to get people to either upgrade or for new customers to purchase. For us N900 users a simple software update to the latest flash version would only foster good vibes with their consumers and show perhaps that Nokia might be changing and considering supporting legacy devices for more than 18 months.

Well, thankfully there's hope that we might get Android fully running in our N900 and get Flash 10 that way.

If this is the case, and assuming the MeeGo/Maemo6 device gets it (why wouldn't it), then:

That effectively tells us no Nokia sanctioned MeeGo on the N900.

Unless by N900, it was really meant as Maemo5

They'll have to explain that.

I swallowed the "no OS2007 on 770" eventually. I understood why Fremantle wasn't ported to the N8x0. Hell, I even understand why PR1.2 isn't available yet. And actually I don't care about Flash at all, I hate it. But if the N900 could run 10.1 technically and they don't include it in a future upgrade, they better have a very good excuse for that.
