I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but when I clicked on the posts that you guys wrote (morbidly curious, i guess) I got a 'Not Found' error. In fact, none of the comments on the article show up...

Have the hounds been shot???

EDIT: I have escalated the pitch of battle. How long before I feel the fury of editorial nukes?

You have to with your manners because of your Nokia job and keeping your same username.

Yes, it is all about the tense. It reads like the IT is trying to catch up to the iphone capabilities. And he is the one who made the comparison to the iphone. And what class exactly is the iphone supposed to be an early member of? WiFi plus cellular - that's not true either!!

He's truly struggling to counter our points.

I like it.

a HA!

He refused to add my last post (would have been before Milhouse's).

I consider that a concession.

Mine isn't appearing

Maybe he's cottoned on to us and knows he's getting an orchestrated pasting.

I had some serious points to make (well, I thought they were serious)... the quality of the reporting in that article is flat out poor, and unfortunately we all come across sounding like Nokia fanbois (which we undeniably are) yet the point we're trying to make to the guy is that this article is factually incorrect on a number of fundamental points!

Sooooo annoying.... grrrrrr.

Yes, we may have ganged up on him a bit ( but he deserved it). I do give criticism of Nokia when and where criticism is due (even though I buy only Nokia mobiles), and I do not automatically rail about how terrible the iphone is (although I will never buy it). And no matter if poorly executed by Nokia, I think it should be known that the IT was FIRST in its category and was the main impetus for the MID movement that Intel now threatens to claim for itself. Too bad there weren't competing patents, then there would be a reason to pursue the issue.

On a more general note, I have the subtle but distinct feeling that the IT will not receive its proper place in history. Yes, the iPhone is slick, and yes there may be many more Intel MIDs sold by 2010 than Nokia ITs, but it appears to be a foregone conclusion that the place of the IT will be forgotten. This is a lesson as to how people always think that Apple or Sony or some other big marketing machine is the innovator, when they are not.

Gee, things the N800 can do the current iPhone CANNOT:

VoIP
Skype
ScummVM, Star Control II, FreeCiv, and Wesnoth (my favs)
Not one but TWO browsers (so far...)
Flash 9 support (you know, for the "real internet")
16 GB of REMOVABLE storage space (32GB coming soon with 16GB SDHC cards coming down the pipe)
dual-booting into alternate operating systems
Actual video chat/calling
Use 3G via tethering to a 3G-enabled phone
Removable, user-replaceable battery
standard mini-USB port for data transfer

Honestly, this guy had a deadline he was late on and he did the bare minimum of research.
Had that ***** done a modicum of research he would have found ITT, the Maemo garage/planet, and been able to write a longer, more detailed article on it.
Don't they teach basic research skills and logic in universities anymore?
I guess he was passed out drunk in his dorm room that day.

My last unpublished post was the coup de grace. I wasn't nasty, but I somehow knew it wasn't getting through his biased filter. Too many nails in his logic coffin.
