The repository looks fine.
How about you install the program manually.
Open up browser from your N900 and try to install any program, it will open up the Application manager and install. After the install check the list again.
Try to install Gweled
Also, after this can you post your screen where you are having problem.

Thanks. Try few more things as root and paste the output
Close the application manager first.
1. df -h |grep -v usr
2. apt-cache search files "Does it shows output or error ?"
3. apt-get update " and show the output"
4. ls -lrt /var/lib/apt/lists
