les_garden, you make assumptions without providing any evidence whatsoever. there are 281 unique applications in Extras at the moment. if one of these applications gets updated, it will not increase the counter on http://maemo.org/downloads/Maemo5/
You needn't spread rumors here. Just count the applications.

I had hoped this thread would be a celebration of our hard working and working-for-free developers. I know that if I developed an app and someone cited it as being their favourite or most useful I would be encouraged to continue.
What happened is a running battle about what the numbers mean. The 10,000,000 number was an excuse to celebrate, not a target.

I wonder if the download counter got stuck because it can't handle more than 7 digits: It usually refreshes once or twice a day. Now it's stuck at 9917899 for ~36 hours. (Or maybe they're not updating until the champagne is cold enough.)
