What if you take out the sim card from your N900 and put it a regular cell phone, are you able to send/receive msgs?

And were you ever able to send/receive msgs in the first place or is this a brand new setup?

@IsaascDFP yes my sim works on a regular mobile phone, i tried that on my dad's old Samsung C-130. i have been using the N900 for 4 months now and it worked fine until yesterday.

there is something wrong with the conversations application thats for sure. what should i do? i have restored to factory defaults from settings, it did not help.

Have you filled up your rootfs?
When I first got mine I accidentally copied a video to a wrong folder and I couldnt send/receive messages.

i have freed rootfs a little by disabling the testing and devel repositories too. but still the same problem.

if i reflash my N900 will that fix it? and do i need to flash eMMC as well?

i would say it has something to do with the application itself, you can try reflashing, and if it is a memory corruption, you would need to flash the emmc as well.. just backup whatever data you want to save
