the flash 10.1 thing is so blown out of proportion right now.

it is riduiculous

flash 10.1 is available as a BETA on ONE and only ONE mobile device(the nexus one) and it doesn't have GPU support yet.

And it has only just been available this past week at all.

i don't think you guys want flash 10.1.
Just check the froyo flash 10.1 videos how extremely much it degrades the browsing performance. Sure its a beta, but how much better can it get?

I'm still on apples side. Death to flash!!

2 billion views a day on Youtube disagree with your "death to Flash" chant.

Although Youtube has a HTML5-based beta for Chrome, Safari, Mozilla, IE and Opera. Not for mobile devices yet, though...

And that version of YouTube's views are not 2 billion a day, now is it?

Now is that what I said in the first place? HTML5 based Youtube almost worked for the N900, too. Have you even tried it out?

I don't understand why they're launching it worldwide.

may be Nokia has some real good plans for N900 in the future or else they would have limited N900 to some regions just like the old Nokia Internet Tablets.

My point you've obviously overlooked... the "death to Flash" chant that some of you people have picked up from Steve Jobs when HTML5 is probably due to be a standard until 2022 and is very premature when honestly the Flash version of YouTube is getting 2 billion hits a day whereas the HTML5 version is inevitably not getting as many hits.

Simply put, when the HTML5 version is getting 2 billion hits a day, let's talk about replacing it then. Until then, the HTML5 w/ H.264 videos version will probably sit alongside the HTML5 w/ V8 (WebM) version... lesser utilized.

That and only that is my point. Now, what was yours? I'm aware of it's existence. I'm wondering if you're aware of it's utilization compared to the Flash version.
