Disregard the title, It should be "How to Reflash Your N800".

First, I downloaded and install the flasher-3.5.exe app. Next I downloaded the latest OS binary file (5.2008.43-7). Then I copied the OS binary to the same folder as the flasher app and rename the OS binary to Diablo_43_7.bin. I plugged my N800 into a USB port on the front of my desktop computer. I executed the flasher file and a dos window came up. Finally, I typed:

flasher-3.5.exe -F Diablo_43_7.bin -f -R

That's it!

hhhmmm nothing over here in Germany... but I checked the versionstring on my N800 which reads: 5.2008.43-7

Edit: might it be that you fetched an older firmwareimage?

Regards,
Glasswalker

I think you reflashed to an older firmware image. You'll want to make sure you flashed to the latest so that over-the-air SSU works.

Those are the updates before Diablo's last update. Continue updating or don't update from a local fiasco image perhaps?

All but the Community SSU all say 2008. Diablo was abandoned by Nokia 2 years ago.

What's your point?

I did flash with a rather old binary. I have installed the flasher_3.5.exe on my windows XP desktop and then downloaded the latest Diablo binary (5.2008.43-7). I held down the "home" key on my D-pad of my N800 and got the USB icon in the top right corner of my screen. Here is where I am having trouble. When I execute the flasher app, I get a dos box window. With the OS binary copied to the same folder, I typed in flasher-3.5.exe -f OSbinary -f -R and nothing! The OSbinary being the downloaded OS binary file. Question: can I rename the OS binary to Diablo.bin? Please help!
