Hi all,

I see that PR1.2 has been released but I already installed the "Enhanced Linux kernel for power users 2.6.28-maemo24". For the PR1.2 update, is it better to revert to the standard kernel first?
I know the maemo update in essence has nothing to do with the kernel, but I just want to make sure ...

IIRC the kernel will be overwritten by the stock kernel if you flash, so it doesn't matter.

I didn't have any problem installing today's firmware over the enhanced kernel.

Yes, with flashing I can believe this, but with a regular over-the-air update?

Yes, I think the OTA will indeed write over the power kernel. The fact that you installed the enhanced kernel from the app manager shows that its possible. Also, you can revert to stock from xterm so I don't see why the 1.2 OTA won't have the same access.

Just re-install once done!

I think it reinstall the stock kernel anyway.

So the question goes: Has anyone with the custom kernel done an OTA (i.e., no reflash) install of PR 1.2? If so, did it overwrite the existing kernel? (The component list would suggest this to be the case, but simply asking never hurts... =) )

If I flash both the rootfs and vanilla... Do I still need to uninstall the custom kernel?
