Hi

I've been looking almost everywhere and didn't know yet how to :

- partition the 32GB to have like 20 GB VFAT (for music and camera)
- install the rootfs on the rest 12 or 10 GB
- use the NAND as swap

is it possible somehow ?

please any guides to do it .
am not quite a noob as i run a dedicated linux server , but we get that with the OS already installed and not on N900 structure .

it would be great if there's any step by step doing it .

thanks

I doubt its worth the effort. If that combination of partitions was optimal then Nokia would have used that by default as it would have been so much easier than all the optification hassle.

It has already been discussed that part of the PR1.2 delay was due to finding out which things to keep on the NAND and which to move, because many things load a lot more sluggish from the eMMC. So moving EVERYTHING to the eMMC would be very painful indeed.

I'm pretty sure any speed advantage from SWAP on NAND would be negated by the overall slowdown of loading everything from eMMC, assuming it is even possible.

However if one uses fast microSD card, such a move may not be worthless.
