it seems the PR1.2 RC was pretty close to final after all regarding Skype.
Yes the videofunctionallity it is a bit a hit and miss, not to speak about the lousy vid quality from the phone - but having Nokia and Skype acknowledge the need or market for a true Skype client on a mobile device such as this is already a huge step forward. A political victory so to speak

I just flashed 1.2 comming off 1.1.1 and my Skype-to-Skype call buttons of my contacts are now gone. All I have is a Skype IM button.

I'm looking to get the Skype-to-Skype button back as well as the new Video button....

EDIT: Nevermind, they just popped up after a logout / login!

Was expecting more but I wasn't particulary bothered much about the update. However I'm happy Nokia brought this update and hope they continue to bring more in the future.

totally dissapointed, I promised I wouldn't be and no matter what happened I would just be happy with skype video calls. 3+ months for this though is taking the p*ss. If I as a developer I handed pr1.2 to my boss after 3 months work I would be fired on the spot!

It truly doesn't bring hope to any future support from Nokia, I never wanted to be a complainer but here I am complaining and I it upsets me so.

Is it just me or did anyone else read that PR1.2 would include native portrait browsing?

If so I dont have it.

Expectations change... it's normal and it's to be expected... and I think this is where Nokia dropped the ball. They should've communicated more (yeah, more) so guide the expectations of their users... and soften the blows (if any).

The worst thing people hate than certain disappointment is uncertainty. You can see this in the (stock) market... The sooner you know about a potential let down, the sooner you can make plans around it and get over it.

It makes more sense if you change the first two "expected" to "hoped".

If I now can run my Qt developed apps from Extras-Devel, I'll be happy! I don't know yet though as PR1.2 is not yet available in my region.

This is bollocks! HTC desire's battery drains the same way in hard usage. Maybe a bit better standby-time with no browsing.

I was expecting a lot more from this over delayed update. Still no vertical portrait mode for general use, only for web browsing. They took ages to bring this out and although there may be a lot of new features/improvements done, none are noticable apart from the app manager running bit faster and with a new update all button. Menu has changed and all in one screen now rather than 'More' icon to carry on. Web browser has a couple more options in settings. Apart from that nothing else noticed.

Only good thing about this update for me will be to try out the new roller coaster game that is out tomorrow! lol
