i remember that if you plug-in a 3.5mm earpiece, every sound is redirected to your earpiece
so, it works as intended
or im remembering wrong?

i know, but it works exactly as if you were plugged in a 3.5 earpiece right?
AFAIK, there is no way to have some sounds in the phone speakers and only music on the earpiece (bluetooth or cable), pr1.2 or not
because the bluez subsystem redirects all sound to the new speakers.
maybe you can replace the original pulseaudio and configure a per-application sink structure, so you can select where your sound goes

Is there a config file I can edit or something to force the N900 to treat my earpiece like an earpiece?
