I had been trying to install the firmware update over the air all day. I backed up my device last week and had that backup ready for after the install knowing I'd have to remove some applications. I ended up removing about 39 apps before it would allow the install.

Now that I've finally completed the OTA update, I attempted to restore my applications to no avail. As a matter of fact I can't even install a single app from a single repository by itself without geting an error that @rads the following:

Not enough space in application install memory. Uninstall some applications to free enough space for this installation

One application I never uninstalled for the update was StorageUsage.

Before the update I had cleaned my /home partition up to about 147 MB free space and I'd cleared the rootfs up to about 41 MB free space.

Now I have 62.4 MB free in RootFS and only 77.3 MB in /home

Even though those numbers surprise me after seeing what the numbers looked like prior to the update, the really upsetting thing is that my smallest partition ha 62.4 MB free yet the app manager wont let me install a 2 MB app and is preventing me from restoring my previously uninstalled apps. =(

Hello I have the same error.

Check out this:
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10305

You can install packages with apt-get still... Just not with Application Manager.

the OTA update could be your problem, i used flasher, flashing eMMC first, then pr1.2, a total clean flash is much better option

edit: and the fw updates have always shown in installed apps for me

I had the same error. But disabling all not necessary catalogs in the program manager solved it.

apt-get...thats gonna be pretty annoying lol. thanks and hopefully this bug is worked out in a forthcoming minor update

now 900, i will try your option first and if after that its still necessary, i'll just try reflashing from scratch. i need to reflash the emmc anyway as a last resort to fix my tracker problems anyway...firmware update didnt fix that

if anyone has an absolute solution, please help still

anyone else with the same problem please vote for this bug

I flashed mine, but I did not do eMMC-flash.

As a followup question for this bug.

I'd like to try out a few of the new apps from store.ovi.com, but since my Application Manager isn't working I'm unable to install them.. Is there any other way to install free packages from Ovi-store except from using Application Manager?

(I don't feel like spending hours reflashing and reinstalling applications to try and fix this problem that someone hopefully will solve at some point in time by fixing apt-worker)

Fixed it: I had the Quake 3 files for ioquake in home. Removed those all was well. I had enough space before, but it didn't work, after I deleted those files via Terminal (MC) I was good to go.
