i noticed that the panel feature for history is gone. that feature made going back from pages much easier than now...

Just make a quick swipe gesture from right edge to left.

Ohh, you mean the "back" button which used to bring up that panel thing.

The easiest way is to use Chromes method. Swipe from outside the right side of the screen to the left to bring up the feature. Swipe from the other side to bring out cursor mode.

if you keep pressing the back arrow the complete history will show up

yes, i use the "long press" on the new back button to get the browsing history - it's a neater solution than the unrelated right swipe gesture, as all browser history functionality is accessible from one logical icon
