I personally doubt that's your problem - if it were, then all sounds would fail - but I believe the command in Linux is:
update-rc.d metalayer-crawler defaults
You might have to either pull a start, or simply enough pull a reboot and then use top to make sure it's started with the proper priority.

Fair warning though, I've got probably the most unique and complicated setup than anyone else I've seen posting here so far.
If we get the next update, I wanted to go back through anyway since it takes 45 seconds to only fire up an 8 meg gvm.store but with an 800 meg virtual storage card. I need to cut out many of the repeating med apps I have.
I don't get much time to get on these forums like I use to, but I'll definitely make it a point once we get an updated Garnet VM.
