lastfm/maemoscrobbler...How does that work.
I have a lastfm account..but the songs I'm playing are not being updated.

Another thing.
bluetooth, my headset seems to not work with it.
Motorola H500 samplerate I guess is 8000hz
It gets picked up but no sound.
no error messages.

btw, also a religous kagu user.
Love the inertial scrolling.
Portrait mode, when?

If you've got maemoscrobbler installed and set up everything in the control panel for your scrobbler account settings, then it's completely automatic. I think it took a day or two before I got recommendations, but I think I started seeing previously played songs immediately.

If this is the H500 you have: http://www.motorola.com/motoinfo/pro...alObjectId=101

Then I'm sorry, but that's not an A2DP (stereo) headset. That's a SCO (i.e. headset profile) mono headset. We don't support those yet, mostly because the audio quality is very poor. However, they might be useful for audio books, so we've got a ticket for eventual implementation: https://www.guardiani.us/projects/kagu/ticket/17

Glad to hear it! We've got a ticket for portrait mode: https://www.guardiani.us/projects/kagu/ticket/54

We've got some odds and ends to clean up before we can get to it, but it's probably only a few releases away.

When you gonna make us another theme, eh? Maybe put some graffiti in the background? That would be sweet. I promise not to mod this one. Pretty please?

I was a religious Kagu 1.0.1 user. I definitely noticed the improvements over UKMP. However, I used the app manager to check for updates and saw one was available. It downloaded 1.0.5 and attempted to install. The installation seemed to complete but at the last second I got a pop up that read "Unable to install kagu." When I checked Installed applications it was listed there (as v 1.0.5) but the status was broken. I uninstalled an attempted to reinstall from scratch. Same exact result. I had to go and install UKMP again.

I was also having maemoscrobbler issues. I have maemoscrobbler properly configured in Control Panel (enable scrobbling and submit if connection is detected checked) Status OK and my Last.FM account was never updated with songs I listened to using Kagu. It should work when connected via cell phone over blue tooth, no?

Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated. I would love to start using Kagu again.

OK, I actually got Kagu 1.0.5 to work. It seems it was working all along, i just needed to run the scanner again. However, its status is still listed as broken in my Installed Apps listing.

Maemoscrobbler is still not updating my Last.fm recently listened listing.

Hello trevarthan... i really want to congratulate you for this nice job you are doing. I never used kaju.... but after reading this thread i will use it from now on. I am thinking of buying a new nokia bh 601 ad2p stereo headset. I want your recommendations for that.

my questions are:
1. Does this headset work with ad2p on n800?
2. Can i use this headset to stream shout cast radio streams via bluetooth alongside the wifi? If no is this a software related issue or a hardware realated. If it is a software related one... do you think it can be resolved in teh near future?
3. How is the sound clarity with ad2p? i mean i have a bose triport headphones ... do you think this whole setup can be worthwile.. because i want to sell the bose headphones to fund nokia bh 601 headset.

thanks for the thoughts.

I have been wanting to try Kagu for a while and was having the cover downloading/Kagu quitting problem. So I tried 1.05 today and unclicked the 'download album covers from the net' box and it worked. There are few album covers shown, maybe it got them from my UKMP stash of covers.

Anyway, it is working and I have one question. Is there a way to change the mapping of the hardware buttons? For instance I would rather have the center button be a pause rather than a stop button. Sorry if this has been covered before.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Fred

Maybe. It doesn't say A2DP anywhere on Nokia's website, but I've found a few that do mention a2dp for the bh 601. Can't say for sure though. Might be a bit of a gamble.

With Kagu? No. With just Mplayer (i.e. CLI), maybe. I've never tried. There are three issues here:

1.) Mplayer + A2DP + Kagu use a good bit of CPU, and adding WiFi to the mix won't help.
2.) I have no idea if sustained WiFi traffic will interrupt the A2DP Bluetooth audio stream and cause it to stutter.
3.) Kagu doesn't support internet audio streams.

I might be interested in testing and building this into Kagu at some point. Got a site where I can get lots of easy to use radio streams?

I find it ... comparable to my white ipod headphones. Maybe not quite as good sometimes, but sometimes a lot better (my ipod headphones tend to buzz at higher volume levels). This depends as much on A2DP itself as on your choice of headphones though. I use a Motorola S9. YMMV.

Honestly, I've really been getting a kick out of using A2DP for audio books lately. The pause button on the headset is uber convenient. I don't even have to get the n800 out of my pocket.

Hmmm... no, not really.

Center dpad button is Select. It makes sense because you can use the dpad to navigate up/down on the scrolling list (I call it the Scroll Widget), then press center dpad to select the item beside the selection cursor.

Pause is the button between the volume rockers on top of the n800. The only unfortunately thing about this arrangement is that we usually expect that button to do fullscreen. Fullscreen has been temporarily moved to the otherwise unused Menu button (above Home). Eventually this will change as this button will actually pull up a menu.

I don't really have any interest in changing the button mappings, but Kagu is open source, so if you or anyone else wants to change something and submit a patch, feel free. GConf would probably be the best choice.

Thanks for the quick reply.

well if you want to test the streams for me and report that would be great.... because i need the informaiton whthere it will work or not .... before i buy the head phones because i listen to a lot of internet streams.

One good site for internet streams is shoutcast.com It has a large no. of internet streams. can you test any 128kbps stream and report back if it works or not.
thank you very much for everything.

Ad2p+streaming radio+ bluteooth headset will make a deadly combination .... if possible.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will learn to live with the buttons. Is there a way to get random play mode to work across all albums or is it only within the selected album? Once again, sorry if this question has been asked before.

Cheers,
Fred
