I think it's a little bit unfair to place a generalization that N900 should support portrait mode. I'm actually quite happy with the landscape format, it's what I initially paid for; a mobile-computer.

Here's my realistic wishlist:

Facebook Application
- I know theres Facebrick, but still would really prefer a more graphical friendly application with all the proper GUI and still retain it's conveniency. Take example of iPhone's facebook app.

Flash 10.1
- We seriously need this! One of the major reasons why I bought an N900 is because of the full-flash desktop web browser.

Better Performance
- I still believe the N900 still lags from time to time depending on how stressed it gets by certain multitasking even though thats totally understandable. However, when theres nothing running its really depressing to witness some grudgyness when scrolling up and down your contacts (or anything else really).

Tbh, most of the already-available N900 applications blew me away at first try, i'm not asking much but yeah... a smoother lag-free N900 is we need. Who wants a laggy phone anyway?

so where is the problem with the cam hardware?

of course the processor can't handle it.
The Samsung Omnia HD could record 720p and it has the same 600MHz ARM Coretx 8 processor.

WISH
stereo mic recordability. That would add 1 whole dimension to the video. Preferably through a TRS plugged mike.

Lets make a PR2.0 wishlist.

- Systemwide portrait mode
- 3G video calling
- STK support
- Ovi Maps voice guided navigation
- Full Ovi.com support, including online syncing
- On-screen portrait mode QWERTY
- Customizable ring tones for contacts and contact groups
- Ability to make custom contact groups
- Ability to make custom folders in apps menu
- MMS
- FM radio receiver
- 720p HD video recording
- Full Facebook and Twitter apps and desktop widgets
- MeeGo?

I know there are 3rd party apps that can do some of this list, but it would be preferable that Nokia provide such functionality, so it could all be better intergrated into the OS and other Nokia apps...

What else is missing?
Thoughts
I like most of your list. Also more stability and faster UI will not kill us. A browser supporting Flash 10.1, and a freakin equalizer.

there was a chat with a representative of nokia sweden:

http://translate.google.se/translate...-1.360340.html

he makes it quite clear that:

1) there will be no mms (he talks about third party software)
2)there will be no ovi maps with voice nav, (talks about third party software, like sygic for e.g)
3) there is a twitter app in the ovi store, or at least it was announced alsready..

i also really would like to see full portrait mode functionality with screen keyboard. they also need to get their act together with renaming song file names and the wy you can arrange pictures in the gallery.

I think this will come because that's the only way MeeGo can get it. The Ovi Maps on symbian will have to be ported to Qt and if it does, we should get it

for me the most important update would b some provisionning support on mail for exchange. until then I cannot use the phone for work. this is bad as all the other symbian nokias support some of it and so could use them.

Yes, provisioning in Mail for Exchange trumps anything else in this thread, for me, as that would allow me to carry only one device during the working day - and EVERY OTHER COMPETITOR DEVICE HAS IT, that I know of.
