It is hard to tell. I took it to a repair guy (not official) and he said it was beyond repair because the pins were coated or something. He did then say that someone else might be able to repair it, so it is hard to tell at the moment.

Is it possible to be completely beyond repair? I am hoping carefone warehouse will repair it not too expensive, even though I have handled it.

All i can tell you is i have repaired one that was totally off the board and i was able to get a solder fix on the tracks that connect to the 5 data pins and as this one was same as your no warranty i soldered an external usb port and all worked after that.
Can be tricky but i don't see why it cannot be repaired.

Hope you managed to fix it. I am lucky as I haven't had any problems with mine so far.

USB still not fixed. When I get time I will send it to Nokia who will replace my motherboard, as it has been identified as a design flaw.

Didn't find any legal things to do with my blacklisted N900, still trying to figure out a legal way to sell it in the USA.
