hi Stratta:
The 'automatic' install won't work on your 770; there is a link to their homepage with explanations.
Good luck!

osso-xterm ¶

This is a leetle hack agains the osso-xterm from http://770.fs-security.com/xterm/. It adds font and color selection support. Mistral version now includes also url opening support.
Development ¶

OssoXtermHacking contains some development ideas and user interface sketches.
maemo 1.1/it2005 ¶

Get your copy at http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/ma...m_0.12_arm.deb.

Note, this will _not_ work with the it2006 software version, see below for that one.

Source can be found at http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/ma...rm_0.12.tar.gz.
mistral/it2006 ¶

For it2006 you can grab your copy with the application installer: Launch up application manager (tools/application manager). From the menu, choose tools/application catalogue and press new button, then fill in the following:
Web address http://maemo-hackers.org/apt
Distribution mistral
Components main

Then close the catalogs dialog and press ok to refresh the list of packages. Now you are ready to install, choose install new applications from the main view and osso-xterm should appear under Applications. If you already have a version of osso-xterm installed, use "check for updates" instead.

Should you find a bug or find it lacking, create a ticket for component osso-xterm.
bora/it2007 ¶

Try the .install file.

If it does't work, you mostly follow the instructions from mistral/it2006, but use Distribution bora instead of mistral, i.e.:
Web address http://maemo-hackers.org/apt
Distribution bora
Components main

And osso-xterm should appear in install new applications.
no network install ¶

If you don't have available network for your 770, do the following: Get http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/ma..._5.5-1_all.deb http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/ma....5-1_armel.deb http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/ma...1-1mh9_all.deb http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/ma...1mh9_armel.deb http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/ma...0-4mh1_all.deb and http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/ma...mh13_armel.deb and place them onto mmc card.

Then enable red-pill mode in application manager and install the packages with Package -> Install from file... in the same order as above.

Hey guys,

By anychance do you have DLink Wireless Routers?

The application refresh issue I had was due to my router. I had the same issue on my Nintendo Wii.

I hadn't used my n800 for about a month and a half before the last update and of course Im getting this error but it still refreshes what it can... Maybe Im just lazy but until I saw it was such a simple fix I was just going to leave it. Of course last time I went one by one until I found the bad one just to find out some of these are only bad half the time and they work other times. I dunno... why bother...

Hi Diogo:
I could not reply to your 'private message' as the system tells me that you have chosen not to receive private messages.

How did you fix this problem with the router?

how should the contents of the log file be interpreted?

for example,

osso-application-installer 4.22.1, UI version 1
W: Couldn't stat source package list http://catalogue.tableteer.nokia.com mistral/user Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/catalogue.tableteer.nokia.com_certified_dists_mist ral_user_binary-armel_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory)
W: GPG error: http://www.oakcourt.dyndns.org ./ Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 86E33E67AD9AE76A
E: Failed to fetch http://openbossa.indt.org/canola/rep...el/Packages.gz 404 Not Found
W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://repository.maemo.org bora/free Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/repository.maemo.org_dists_bora_free_binary-armel_Packages)

above are some examples i have encountered. how should i solve the errors?
what does 'E:' or W:' mean?

is 'apt-get update' same as refreshing the list of packages?

TIA

W => Warning (which can be ignored, non-fatal)
E => Error (fatal)

Your openbossa.indt.org repository is out of date.

And "yes" to your apt-get question.
