Does Recaller have dbus-interface which could be used to control it in the situations like this?

Dbus-interface could be usefull also to have record-button in FM-radio.

This package should be demoted to the development repository, because it's broken in a very scary way; it won't stop recording. Ever.

Stop your dumb whining. The app has 160'000 downloads, so it works quite well for many people. The problem is known and described in two different places:
- The comments section of maemo downloads
- The Help page on the Wiki (which is linked directly from the settings)
(Just make sure that your save folder doesn't contain a space in it's folder)

Users like you are the reason why developers quit Maemo.

Whoa! What's up with your attitude?

I just unpacked my N900 today. Tried a few apps. Read about how the devel repo is for problem-prone ones. Got this widget installed on a brand new untainted firmware and it messes up.

I see it was promoted, but it fails since the new firmware, so I vote for it to be demoted. Simple and honest.

No hints for a fix on this talk page. You could have been a gentleman and nicely provide a URL to the information, but instead you choose to flame me with your attitude the second I set foot in this community.

People like you are the reason others are reluctant to join communities like this. Geez, always the same. Join any forum and people are friendly. Join a nerd forum and you get smacked in the face. What was I thinking coming here..

-edit-
But thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I don't have a space in my path though.

I thank you highly for this nice widget but excuse me.
If empty space in folder name triggers bug that makes recaller not stop. THEN IMO it really should be demoted from extra to testing.

I do not know how much you spend time here around TMO, but I see too many noobs end up here and have problems with their N900 which has slowed down. Some of them seem to have problem with Recaller (and some poor souls have enabled devel & testing without knowing what they are doing) and they should not have to read download page comments or maemo wiki page comments. Well why? Because itīs from extra repository. Repository that should represent the highest quality of maemo.org applications. Itīs enabled by default on N900 and people do who install stuff from there probably do not have slightest idea what maemo.org or TMO is.

Still great app and hopefully you are fixing it soonish.

Anyone having trouble might try uninstall, remove the config files, reboot and reinstall. The folders to delete are:
/var/lib/gconf/apps/Maemo/tomch.com/recaller
/var/lib/gconf/apps/osso/hildon-desktop/applets/recaller.desktop-0

The recreated config files seem to have the same settings as before, but it works now. Perhaps deleting them causes some extra initialisation?
