Hey all ... I was wondering if there's any way to get the N900 desktop on my PC so that I can remotely browse and control my N900 from my PC .. There were apps for doing this on Symbian phones before, but I dont know if its possible on the N900 ... Can anyone clarify this ?

VNC is the best to do that. You can find it in the repos. Use the vnc viewer from PC to connect to your N900.

He's looking for the "other way round" - control N900 from PC (AFAIU).

Yes that is what I meant. There is a vncserver (forgot what its called) that you need to keep it running on the N900. Then use the vnc viewer from your pc (free edition) and you can control the N900 from your PC using the keyboard/mouse.

OK well, I tried out the method mentioned by nikolajhendel, and it works perfectly ... a little slow, but it works ...

Problem is, you have to manually start x11vnc on your N900 everytime you want to initiate a connection to it from your PC ... Isn't there a server type of a tool for the N900, which is always monitoring for incoming VNC connections ?

Can someone tell me how can I have x11vnc constantly running in the background so that I don't have to start x11vnc on the N900 first everytime I want to remote control my N900 from my PC .. ?
