Robbers didn't go robbing a bank just to take money away from the people that put money in that bank. Someone intentionally running a red light and causing an accident didn't just do it to cause the accident. Dismissing the fact that Wayfinder was ignorant of a segment of its paying customers is cold comfort for the orphaned customers.

So why is Wayfinder too good to do the same and feel fine about the negative impression they left us with? I'll certainly avoid their products in the future if I can help it, now.

Naw.. but it will make it work with the orphaned data and nobody else is stepping up to make a comparable offline navigation program for the 770/N800/N810/N810WE... you know, anything OTHER than the N900. Isn't that at least worth the try? If for no other reason, it's because it's sitting there on the device.

Just a quick observation. Use the " -s 0 " option with tcpdump when capturing unknown data. It will capture the whole packet(s) that match your other filters. More data == good
Take care.

@danramos
LOL

How did they mount the one that has the left turn arrow on-screen?

I have what is referred to as a DIN "pocket" which is where I would like to place a removable L-bracket mount that goes up the dash to the n810. Unfortunately this is the only good mounting spot and thus far I've had structural stability issues (as soon as I make a sharp turn it flies around the car)...
...perhaps my problem is that thus far my mount consists entirely of Legos. >.>

I used a Magellan GPS Mount and took out the parts and screwed the Nokia N810 mount so it would fit perfectly and you can put this on your winsheild without a problem!!!

I need this as well. I was hoping to get an update.

I remember when I first got my n810 a year ago I bought the wrong license for Europe instead of the US

If the MeeGo update for the n810 becomes mainstream I wonder if I could use the gps solution for that?

It looks like there are a couple of options we might have.

The first is to look out for an activated N770 (possibly with lifetime licence)where we can copy the ldb folder and mac address to our devices.Perhaps we could all share the cost of the purchase.Keep an eye out on the auction sites!

The second option is to try and decipher the encryption between the device and server(see post 405).It seems that the server updates the ldb files, probably with just the mac address,expiry date and country code.That is why as been observed,there is not much communication between device and server.By requesting a few 7 day trials,it may be possible to see a pattern.By using a different mac address each time on the same day,the code for the date should stay the same?The task would be then to set up a server that could send this data to our device.
