Hi all Having a few problems install apps from there site I use my 770 go to the item I want to download and download it. When I install it it opens up application manager and that is it. How can I install apps I want any help Thanks

fbreader
gre pim
idea
claws-mail
minimo
osso-xterm

Do you know about adding repositories? For example, to install claws-mail on a 770 you have to have add the following repository:

Address: http://www.claws-mail.org/maemo
Distribution: mistral
Components: user

Without this repository it won't install. Also, I believe in most cases, if not all, you need to have a live Internet connection while installing, not just to download the install file. Hope this helps.

Yeah I do know about that but every time I try add one I just get unable to refresh list last refreshed list is shown

That means you did a typo somewhere or some of the repository servers are temporarily unavailable. Try to disable them one by one, when you disable the problematic repo, update will be finished succesfully.

Are they down a lot as I have been trying since yesterday and I know the spelling is ok as check it 100 times. Is there no other way to get them on my nokia ??

Sorry for the stupid question :-) but does the internet connection works flawlessly, you're sure? Sounds a bit like a magic that correct repositories in the list can't be updated.
There is another way: with apt-get under root, but I think it is equal to what Application Manager does.

It could be the net connection so I will try when I am at home then see what happens also how do I find the repositories for the other software I want download?

I know 3 ways:

1)maemo.org and then Downloads, search there.
2)maemo.org and then Repositories, select your ITOS version.
3)Ask google: software_name maemo
