A few days ago I had problems updating to PR 1.2 via NSU so I just did it today. First I installed the new firmware with the Nokia Software Updater (NSU) on a PC with Windows 7 and afterwards installed the update via the program manager on the device over a wlan connection. Everything seemed fine. After setting up the the wlan connection I started installing applications in the program manager. Unfortunately some applications failed to install, like e.g. "TouchSearch". It states that some for the installation necessary applications are missing. Under details -> problems it says the missing program package is: python2.5-minimal (=2.5.4-1maemo6). Note the "maemo6" which seems rather strange (see below).

After flashing twice (on an PC with Windows XP with the flasher-3.5) the problem persists (image RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin).

So I flashed the device a third time with the RX-51_2009SE_3.2010.02-8_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin image and updated the device from the program manager via WLAN. This did not help. Even trying to resolve the problem via command line by manually installing the package with "apt-get install" did not help (I installed python2.5-minimal -> According to "dpkg -l | grep python" "2.5.4-1maemo5" is installed; notice the maemo5!)

So I wanted to ask if other people have simular problems, if the applications are just not ready for the update (why a freemantle 1.2 repository then) or if I am the only one having this problem...
tr to install in xterminal what u want to install e.g touchsearch apt-get install touchsearch after he says missing dependencies leaving unconfigured type than apt-get -f install only that will solve the problem

Why do you think it will mysteriously find the necessary dependencies for the second apt-get command but fail to find them for the first?

Anyway, according to http://maemo.org/packages/view/python2.5-minimal/ the python2.5-minimal version required is currently in both extras-testing and extras-devel, so you could try enabling one of those temporarily.

It does it for packages installed using dpkg (which doesn't resolve dependencies). If you used apt-get to install a package then it has access to exactly the same dependencies when running the first command as the second, so if one fails then the other will as well (in fact, I'm pretty sure apt-get will refuse to install touchsearch in your first command due to the missing dependencies).

Thanks adding the extras-testing has resolved the issue. Strange that it only started to happen yesterday through when the main dependency was not fully released.
