Why send me an email.

Get a new perspective on the world with the Nokia Point & Find augmented reality browser for Nokia devices. Point your device's camera at landmarks and get descriptions, reviews and more. Tag your favourite landmarks to share with friends. Available free at Ovi Store.

With a big Green button that says Download Nokia Point and Find.

Click on the link and guess what??
Sorry, this item is not available for the Nokia N900.

>FAIL<

Not only is it not developed to work on the N900 (it's Symbian only), but it could never work anyway. As a remarkable bit of short sightedness, the designers didn't include a digital compass on the n900. So augmented reality applications like this will never work on the n900 even if it was redeveloped for Maemo5.

Your MyNokia or Ovi account has some other device besides the N900 selected as your main device. This is why they send you messages you can't really benefit from.

I got the EMail also and I have only a N900 registered at ovi.

I guess there are many people working at Nokia since the good old times they made only the Nokia rubber boot's. Without any kind of technical knowledge! (not only the gumboots)

AR doesn't *need* a compass. GPS can get a general heading, which can be tracked with accelerometers (IIRC the N900 has two?). Alternatively, you can just do a fuzzy match of the camera input...

I figure they were just trying to rub it in that we still don't have a decent OVI store with cool apps even after PR1.2
