Back in the thread it's been said that mounts don't show up in File Manager unless mounted in /media. Normal /mnt mounts are hidden.
Also, you should make sure you can mount from command line, as it makes a difference if you can. Also back in this thread are other posts with similar issues, and walkthroughs on how to check if it actually works, including checking from Linux and Windows outside the N900.
Finally, what does the said network drive use as a protocol?

Following these steps you will resolve all of your problems:
1. uninstall wizard-mouinter from the app-manager
2. open up the terminal and execute :
dpkg --purge wizard-mounter
3. re-install wizard-mounter normally

If I understand your question correctly the protocol in use is a SAMBA share. I have tried many of your (and other suggestions from previous posts) and have made no progress.
i can successfully mount from command line using
mount -t cifs //192.168.0.24/test2 /media/test2 -o user=USERNAME,pass=PASSWORD
and I can cd to test2 directory and ls results in correct list of files on remote drive. File manager still does not show mounted share.
A 'Remote_Filesystems' directory has been created in test2 directory though.

Well, WM mounts in the Remote_Filesystems/user@IP/, not sure how much it matters, given the fact that MMC1 mounts directly to /media.
I have attached an image of a mounted share in the FM, as well as a structure of my filesystem. I'll let you spot the differences.
Is the said test2 empty? I think it's skipped if empty.
Oh, one more thing: Don't be TOO upset if it doesn't show up in Nokia's FM. I've had a few bad experiences with it, a copied file didn't match MD5 after copying several times. As a result, cp and MC are my tools now.

I've had a little more success thanks to your tips. I can mount the share from a command line and access the folders within. I don't anticipate needing to copy files to or from it but prefer the 'accessability' of media files using file manager.
My main reason for wanting to access the remote storage is to be able to play media files on n900 which are stored on the drive. I understand that there is a way of opening files from a command line but that this requires quite a long and complicated string.
any ideas about what I should enter into the fields in WM so that I can mount using this instead of command line? I've tried many combinations of folder names, username and password.
TIA.

You should enter info it requests. The host is host (no slashes), user, pass as needed (make sure N900 doesn't capitalize the user and password, it's darn annoying).
My WM works great, I'm up to 3 (as per screenshot) mounts both here and at the office.
Availability of media will have to wait, transfers are darn slow. Maybe MP3, because video will NOT stream fast enough. With improvements, I'm up to around 100K per second. This is enough to stream audio, but even well=-compressed video is a bit much, especially with jitter and stuff.
Overall, it's a nice thing. I use it to move large amounts of data from the N900 to the PC, as I use mail to move single files that are smaller. I just set MC to copy/move and leave it be.
Your best bet in media over wifi and N900 is streaming. Or a bit more wait until someone takes a look at what is so slow and patches it. Until then, snailsville. Several people said they'll be looking into it, this far limited success.

I installed WM, works, but when reaching 100% of Copyng, the screen remains, and FM freezes, i have to do End Current Task?!

wizard-mounter starts up ok but crashes me to desktop when I press the mount button.

I get a 'Connection Refused' error when I try using WM to mount a shared folder on an Iomega Network Hard Drive.
I can (I think) mount the same share via xterm and using the commands listed in previous posts (df -h displays the total size of the various storage available). However, even when this is successful the folders do not show up in File Manager.
Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue?
I have managed to use WM to mount shared folders on my laptop :0)
