I'm betting that the n900 number is not favorable enough to be broadcasted by Nokia at this point, which is the main reason that we're seeing a lack of information on that end. They see broadcasting it to have a more negative effect than positive for nokia/maemo/meego.

If that is not the case, then two possibilities which are just as bad:
1. Nokia is unintentionally missing a big opportunity to toot their own horn and get good publicity out if it.
2. Nokia is intentionally being stoic with this, probably afraid of N900's success with what's considered a half-baked OS. (well ok, three quarter).

Then you've not been paying attention to Nokia in the past.

This video again. It was talked about a bit a while back when it was first shown but, other than the novelty of seeing the MeeGo netbook UX for the first time, there's not a lot to get excited over really. The talking will increase when something more substantial is shown.

Then how could you have not seen prior sales numbers being stated by Nokia then?

And this whole spiel of "sales don't mean that much to me" or whatever other egocentric BS people may conjure up - sales numbers means a lot to the shareholders and it helps folks gauge interest as well as if a platform will or will not be supported in the future (usually).

To say otherwise, foolishness. And to continue disregarding that numbers have been made known in the past, sheer ignorance or you're just that willing to turn a blind eye to the fact that Nokia hasn't released the sales numbers on one single Maemo device ever.

At this rate, due to their actions, I'll low-ball estimate their sales until they prove otherwise. I'll not take the word of a fansite nor fan.

Sometimes, it feels like people in this forum want MeeGo to fail, just in order for their points of view to be validated.

instead of keeping up this pointless discussion, why don't you link to those sales numbers? them being available means there's a source of information about nokia i missed so far. (i googled before i wrote my last post about not knowing these numbers.)

the only thing i can remember is a youtube-video from - i dont know - nokia world (?) when they said that two of their more recent devices (one of them being N97, the other i cannot remember, but it wasn't NSeries) sold about 1 million per month in total in the first few months after they were launched. now that's similar to "... sold 100000 during the first 5 weeks after launch".

other than that, i've not heard official sales figures on a per-device basis from nokia. (and again, i'm not saying they never published them. i believe you when you say they did. they just must have done somewhere i don't follow regularly.)
