Can we get this goddamn thread back on topic and look at the comparisons between phones. Tried to help by posting updated test results way back on the 1st page. People can feel free to do the same

Just a quick thing. Boosting my max CPU to 1Gz ups the Mflops of linpack to 11.3 average. Amazing the diff 50 Mhz can make.

PR1.3 should bring us Qt 4.7 and Qt-mobility

Or simply Nokia gave false promises and founded misguided hopes, then abandoned us.

I paid premium price for the device, I expect premium customer service and premium services that automatically come with all the companies other lesser devices.

You get the point, the device was not finished even after Nokia trying to finish it months after the release date and still not finished half a year into its lifetime.

Besides Qgil who's only role seems is to update us about Meego's progress and be illusive about what's coming or not coming (though I think his official role is community relations). And Peter (who I think made one post in the very beginning of the N900's launch and hasn't seem to be back yet). And maybe one or two developers that work with bugfixes. And there's not much Qgil can do that's not already immediately to Nokia. Say Ovi Maps 3.0 (though technically your really asking for 2.0 since the 3.0 means the 3rd version of Symbian Ovi Maps).

Qgil can say the obvious "hey people want Ovi Maps to be better" but the higher ups will just say "our resources are dedicated to Meego/Symbian 3 and probably QT Ovi Maps v1 [that would be the logical conclusion if Meego and Symbian 3 are QT compatible]". And because Qgil can't say anything without being fired, he just says something illusive like Nokia may allow their commercial applications to be run on a community supported Meego release (though I probably stated it with more clarity then he ever would =P)

In other words, for all purposes. Nokia has nobody that can do anything (sorry Qgil) that you hope for on this forum. Your more likely to get attention on Nokia's official forum.

PS: Qgil, feel free to correct me if I've typed casted your job wrong.

If by "techie" people you mean Linux buffs and developers, they will buy it regardless of what is said, just look at most of the users here.

He's also mentioned PR1.3 in at least bugs 5482 and 6394, with Andre making a confirming comment in the latter of those.

Fair enough, I'm not a developer either.

It's just that you seem so adversarial on these forums and seem to take pleasure in pi$$ing on warm fuzzy threads. Whenever I see a "happy thread" I think when are you going show up and do a "PradaBrada Dump" all over it!

I don't think I'm alone.

If that's the way you want to come across.....fine. I just don't think it will do your "cause" any good.
