I am trying to install wget from repositories using xterm, but I am not able to do it, this is what I get:

Code:
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  wget
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 621kB of archives.
After unpacking 1724kB of additional disk space will be used.
WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!

E: Some packages could not be authenticated
Any help? Thanks in advance.

since wget has no deps, did you try browsing and downloading the .deb file, and doing a dpkg -i ?

I had the same problem....the solution is to go to the meamo download section and download and install using application manager.

I've belatedly flashed the new N800 operating system, but also am having difficulty reinstalling wget. I've followed the previous example of downloading it from the Maemo Download site and "asked" the Application Manager to do its stuff. But it failed to install it for me, in addition to which the Application Manager is also consistently failing to refresh ever since I've installed the latest operating system. Does anyone have any further useful thoughts or advice in this matter? (I've also tried installing it using apt-get, also with no success.)
