so I finally received my N800 GPS Kit (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=250154173927) and its not "not been used" as was advertised in the auction, the envelope with the CD and manuals has been opened and all the parts are not in bags like I've seen in reviews. I knew something was going to go wrong or something but I installed it anyway and everything and I got to the enter license key screen and bam... license in use. Anyone know what I can do to get a new license or something.

The original purchaser should send you a letter of agreement to transfer license, and then you'll have to present that to the software vendor. I've done this with Adobe before. Hope it works with this vendor.

What the vendor should have done was to deactivate the cd key, then all the buyer has to do is re-activate.

It is also useful to deactivate prior to reflashing the device, sending it back for repair or replacement, etc.

I re flashed my device and installed navicore personal 2007 again and did not deactivate or anything. Every thing went ok.

Yes i have had the same experience after a reflash, all was ok. I was only suggesting that as a precaution. I don't know where or how the activation info is held.

Certainly it is what I do now as a matter of course. Just trying to be safe rather than sorry.

My brother had to send his N800 back to Nokia and Navicore wouldn't run on the replacement device because the code was still active on the returned faulty tablet.

Navicore Ltd came through in the end for him though, so they seem to be very good in that respect.

it seems like all you have to do is call and they will instantly reset the license code

What if they choose not to? Personally I would prefer to avoid the risk. Also deactivate/activate is a lot easer than the process you seem to espouse.

If you can't get through on the phone or you are half the world away from Finland then Navicore suggest this as the best option
