I would love to get my hand on this program to test it out.

I have the Hardware needed, I just need the software to test out.

I think wrote what you want needed to author of Carman, but not to comunity!!!
Go to project page and write all! https://garage.maemo.org/projects/carman/
Or write directly to development company http://www.indt.org.br/en.html
But not here. Here not changed status of project!

Kopla has already put his modified version of carman to extras-devel. It's not installable through application manager so it must be installed in terminal with apt-get. I have already installed it and it seems to be running without any problems.

normally by:
apt-get remove <packagename>

Thank's Kopla for work, but on my the N900 with the BT OBD II reciever new Carman don't work Program start, found OBD II but not connected to it. Also Carman don't see internal GPS reciever.

Program to start only but not to work and dramaticaly eating battery
