azzurro, just open the Camera application, start recording video, and use these buttons:

Q and W to toggle Flash LEDs on and off,
E and R to toggle the red recording LED,
A and S to adjust focus,
D to correct the auto focus.

(By the way, if the thread continues to devolve into a shouting match, it will be closed.)

thanks xomm, you are extremely helpful, again! However, it's pity that one cannot once and forever disable that red light. Once disabled with Live Focus, it lights up again during the next record session - so you have to disable it again... It's a bit annoying, should be some better solution.

PS: I would suggest to delete all unrelated to the topic posts (including some of my).

There is a video on youtube of someone that took apart his n900 and disabled the red record light for good.

i also think its a pity the search feature was changed... it was better before, as it found more results.

to search:

pull out your hardware keyboard in application manager.
click your desired category of applications (All apps).
start typing on your n900's hardware keyboard and it will start filter to match your keywords.

Because if we are recording our cat, that red light attracts him and destroys all intentionality of the video. Because if we are recording our children, a red light is simply disturbing. Because if we are recording our basketball team, that red light can be seen as a laser, a fact that can 1) disturb the players 2) attract the police directly to us.

And which law of what country doesn't allow to record videos and sounds of people without their permission? I mean, the n900 is sold in a lot of countries, right?
