What are you telling audio player to stream? Should be http://youripaddress:9000/stream.mp3. Then open browser to http://youripaddress:9000. Try mp3 files first. For .aac a plug-in is required. Get this part working first, then I will explain about .aac. Good luck!

Having problem with this thing. Not as great as I thought it was going to be. You have to open audio player and add audiostream to http://yourIPaddress:9000/stream.mp3. Then open up a browser to control the audio being streamed. When I click on a song I get a 403 Forbidden error. If I click on the link it will eventually play. Lot of delay between pressing play and the song actually being played.

Ok got some progress, worked out that acc files would be a problem by messing around.

However, the new problem, is how can i stop the audio player from buffering every 30 seconds(well it seems like this)?

When it does work it is great!

Are you streaming this from a remote connection, or is this on a LAN?

You can change the bitrate under "Player Options".

On my lan here my 770 can stream @ 320kbps with no problems.

tiggerboy:

Try selecting "Player Settings" from bottom of skin. Then select "Audio". At the bottom of that screen you will see a section with bitrate options. If you have files recorded at a high bit rate, you might need to lower the value and let the SlimServer make the adjustment on the fly for you. It could be that you have high bit rate recordings and your system cannot accomodate the high volume of data. I think this is more of a wifi limitation than a 770 limitation. I have mine set to 192.

noknok:

I am not really sure what is the cause of your problem. Have you also tried accessing songs directly from your PC? Do you get the same forbidden 403 error? Are you running SlimServer 6.5b1 from the "nightly updates"? Are you running the 770 skin? If the answer to all of the above is yes, I suggest you create a thread asking for help on the slimdevices website as your problem is not really a 770 issue, but more of a slimserver issue in general. I have found that the members are quite willing to help out. As for the delay after making a selection, the configuration settings have a 30 second refresh rate by default. This can be modified, but I find that anything less is annoying as the screen is constantly refreshing. The author of the 770 skin has mentioned the possiblility of addressing this issue in future upgrades to the skin. Good luck.

Try going to ( http://slimdevices.com/su_faq.html#t...ng-aacwireless ) as it gives info on plug-in to download for .aac files. It converts them to mp3 on the fly so that they may be played by players that cannot recognize .aac files.

Once you get everything configured properly I am sure that you will be pleased. SlimServer is the main reason that I bought the 770 and all the other benefits are just gravy!

A few tips for those starting out with 770+Slimserver:

- You may want to get the latest version of the server (currently 6.5) off the SlimDevice website: (http://slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest/6.5) This might require a firmware upgrade to your SqueezeBox and/or a server library rescan, so it might take a while. Might also want to get the LAME encoder mentioned earlier in the thread (here's the link http://slimdevices.com/su_faq.html#t...ng-aacwireless)

- If you haven't already you may want to set up your router so it hands the slimserver machine AND the 770 a fixed IP address instead of letting DHCP pick them -- that is, unless you've set up DNS and use hostnames instead of IP addresses. If you don't do this your bookmarks and player settings on the server may not work.

- If you're running a firewall on the slimserver make sure the OS allows incoming connections from the local subnet on TCP port 9000.

- The latest version of SlimServer comes with a 'Nokia 770' skin which makes web-browsing the server much nicer (here are some screenshots of the skin: http://benklaas.com/slimserver/nokia...reenshots/new/).

- Wait until the server scan finishes. On the 770 open a web-browser and point it at http://{yourslimserver}:9000. Bookmark it.

- On the 770 open the AudioPlayer, press the menu button, choose Playlist/Add Stream... and enter http://{yourslimserver}:9000/stream.mp3 -- then make sure you select Playlist/Save afterward otherwise the link goes away. The cool thing is that the Slimserver will now show up on the homepage under the 'Internet radio' popup.

- From the web-browser page, choose a song, album or playlist and hit 'Play.'

- On the Audioplayer choose the "Welcome to Slimserver" entry and hit the 'Play' button. If everything works you should be buffering for a few seconds then hearing music. If you don't check your volume setting on the 770. There are two volume controls, one for the box itself (on the top toolbar) and another in the Audioplayer that is also controlled with the +/- switches on the top of the 770.

- In the web browser pick your 770 from the popup list on the top right corner or under 'Player Settings for...' under the default theme. If you also run a SqueezeBox or SLIMP3 they will all be listed there. Click on the 'Player Settings' link. You can change the bitrate under 'Audio' and the player name. You can also choose your SB box from the popup and use the 770 as a glorified remote control.

- There's still a lot of active development going on for the 770 skin in the SlimDevices forums: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19369

A few caveats: Album art display in the web browser is still buggy and the browser is set to refresh itself every sixty seconds. When it does, sometimes the music hiccups. Haven't quite figured out why.

Ok, hope this helps.
