Lullen, you just bounced this thread up...

The aim simply is to show facts againt the always running smoke-and-mirrors-machine and put things back into perspective, perform reality checks, nothing else. I think you just got that wrong.

It is not my problem that Apple fanboys seem to be even more religious about theirs as Nokia fanbois. Any kind of criticism is neglected, real problems are just denied. Like the antenna problem (answer from Steve Jobs: 'Just avoid holding it that way'. This is ridicolous!).

Regards,
Corwin

Had a friend of mine showed me his new iPhone last night. Was well keen to show me the 'multitasking'. Apple release a feature on a par with that on my old N73 and everyone pisses their pants... And the whole 'well it's proven that multitasking actually means you get less done' argument is null applies even more so to the iPhone, as it doesn't let you do the handy, get more done type multitasking' ie a process is running in the background by itself whilst you get on with something else, it just lets you do the 'quickly check my facebook' type multitasking (not really, more pause the app and switch to another and unpause it) which is the kind that is actually counterproductive.

It's an alright fone I guess. Nothing special or revolutionary about it at all as far as I can see. Screen's nice though, not noticeably better than the n900's though... Retina screen....Suckers...

ps: a comment to BGR's article: the update has been out for less than a day but none of the reviews done by the 'big review sites (including ars) mentioned any bugs.

I think their general stability (on day to day operation and through firmware updates) is due to stringent application sandboxing.
So I'm guessing many of the bugs mentioned by BGR are due to some leftover jailbroken mods.
I think the arguments have been(put forward by some people) that iPhone is useful and can function as well as(or even better than) other device once it is "jailbroken". So, it is only 'fair' to comment on the general 'goodness' of a 'jailbroken' iPhone after the new update.

may be there is a bit of 'sour-grapes'; however, I think it is mostly due to the fact that fanboy(oops...fan-person..from all side) are really comparing 'apple' to 'orange'; and apply/dismiss facts to enforce their viewpoint - thus stirring up the more rational people on both camps to duke it out for all to see and enjoy

If you don't know how to work it, it is a bug.

Ctrl+shift+o doesn't work in the browser anymore?

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuk Nokia!!!!

People overreact so much that the actual bugs get ignored.
